Hope of America

The majority of the fifth grade classes in Alpine School district participate in Hope of America.  The learn songs during the year about the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Liberty, voting, what it means to be an American, etc.  Thursday, Jeffrey performed at BYU's Marriot Center. It was fun to pick him out of the crowd and watch him sing! The students did a great job. Several dance groups and local singers also performed.  The girls and I enjoyed the night and had a bit of ice cream from the creamery!

I love the reflection of the moon on the lake!!

Easter 2014

We had a great Easter weekend. The girls and I went to Westlake High School to watch the community's production of "The Lamb of God." It reminded me of "The Savior of the World". We enjoyed it. They had a large choir, live orchestra, and several actors telling the story of the Savior's last week and the resurrection.

Saturday, the girls got sick, both with fevers. I did shopping for Easter dinner and Jeffrey and I packed the house some more. I had tickets to see the Mormon Tablernacle Choir and Orchestra perform Handel's 'Messiah' in Salt Lake. I was really excited to go, but decided not to when the girls' fevers continued.

The kids opened their Easter package from Grandma and we put together an Easter egg hunt for Malia. The older two wanted to have the hunt at the house, but it's in disarray from packing. We decided to hide her eggs at the meadow by the marina, not too far from the house. I had a chat with the Jeffrey and Brooklynn about how Malia doesn't have many more years with the 'magic of Easter and Christmas.' They had great attitudes and tried hard to make it fun for her!  I gave both the girls some ibuprofen and they felt well enough to have a decent time! Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Can we start the Easter Egg Hunt yet?

Eggs hidden by the deer! The birds were flying around and chirping too!

My favorite picture of Suggie today. She has fun looking through the tall grass and in the trees and shrubs in the meadow.

Jeffrey Filling Up

For me, one of the exciting things about the kids getting older is their being able to take on some 'grown up' things. Yahoo for me! I can sit in the car while this gentleman in training fills the car up with gas!

Game Night

The kids came home from the weekend with their dad.
I planned their favorite dinner and a game night for when they got home. We played Spot It, Tenzi, and Nada. It was a great way to transition to them being back home! We'll definitely be doing it again!
